Today, high density is regarded as a precondition for sustainable urbanization and economic growth.
1. What do you think, why?
In my opinion, every development requires a careful optimization process adapted to the conditions of each site. Too much density might lead to congestion, shortage of resources, etc. and can be detrimental to a healthy lifestyle and wellbeing. There should be a balance between the density increase and more green open space. There is a need for more compact cities with a mixture of densities in different neighborhoods with their own urban character to achieve sustainable cities.
What are the challenges of high density?
High-density cities may face challenges such as traffic congestion, shortage of resources, environmental degradation, pollution, reduced private space, reduced availability of housing, an increase in building costs, etc.
