One of the projects I find relevant here is Norman Foster’s Gherkin Tower which illustrates how environmental factors such as sunlight and wind force, inform formal building qualities. The shifting rotation angle of one floor slab to another corresponds to wind exposure and ventilation both through the external envelope (diagrid structure) and within internal spaces (floor plans outline). These parameters dictate the overall shape and dimensions of the final optimized form.
