Highline Park in New YorkThe Highline used to be an old railwaytrack that has been repurposed to a green walkway through the city.
By it being raised from the ground floor the perception of the environment differs extremely from the crowded and hectic streets of New York. It is regarded as a relaxing and very social place where the usual overstimulation from cars and traffic in gerneral is excluded. This contrast is even enhanced when taking into consideration that one has a brought overview of the city. So the everyday streetlive below can be seen and felt but one can also retract from it and enjoy a more relaxed scenery by walking in the middle of the highline. This restricts their view towards the immediate surroundig houses and greenery.
